Don't try this at home, I almost had a stroke when I stepped around the corner and saw this fiasco... .....

Mike. :)

I started this post saying "... that doesn't seem so bad. " But after thinking about it for a bit I deleted that and would like to change my answer to, "holy cow. "

Seems like a great way to ruin that trailer. And that's asuming the whole works doesn't break a binder chain or tip over.

Nice looking front shovel. Volvo makes attractive machines.

His balls got to be bigger then his brains. I hope it has 3/8 chains holding it on.

Yep, I've seen that done before. Have you watched an operator unload an excavator like that without any ramps and go off the side of the trailer?

Ever see someone load a small track loader from a tag along trailer up into the bed of a tandem dump truck? I had an excavating contractor customer who did that regularly and then loaded a rubber tired loader on the trailer. :-laf

Look ingenious to me, probably something I would do:) I do think the trailer might be overloaded tho... When I first started in the log woods, I hauled for a sawmill that owned the logging company too. They had this old homemade double drop lowboy that I used to load and unload their D6 cats from the side. Just turn on the deck... it was hard on the deck planks but since they were also a mill they would just saw new ones... rough cut 3"x12".

Bill, Ever seen the guy that unloads rock for Red River there in Longview? They have a rail spur over behind our old shop on the loop. . that guy is an insane maniac...

He runs a little Komatzu and a little Cat. THe guy drives up a little home made ramp from the ground onto the end of the first rail car... From there, he goes to the other end of the string of cars and starts unloading car after car while driving over the rock and over one car wall onto the next until he gets back to the ramp... .

Its insane to watch... !!!

Theose guys must have nerves of steel!:-laf No, I haven't seen that particular one, but have seen others doing it. Also, I've watched Herzog load/unload railroad ties and unload ballast with backhoe loader tractors like this: Unloading a Herzog Cartopper - YouTube

The Herzog backhoes I watched were JCB instead of a CAT. It's the same with either one.

If this BOTHERS YOU I dont think I will even TELL YOU some of the things we did working on aircraft at the emergency airstrip :-laf It sure as Hell wasn't in the TECH MANUAL doing it our way
