I just replaced a cracked steering box bracket with a new one from the dealer. After everything was back in place and tightened, I went for a test drive and noticed a loss of left steering. 1 and 1/4 turns to lock vs. the right side at 1 and 3/4 turns to lock. I shortened the adjustable drag link and it got better but still could use more adjustment. The thing now is that the steering is way off center. Has anyone took our steering wheels off? Is there a master spline? Can the key spline be ground down to reposition the steering wheel?

Aloha,

Matt

No, there shouldn't be a master spline. I removed the steering wheel from my truck and other Dodges I've had and repositioned them to get them centered.

I know there are two different gear ratios. I don't recall which our gear box has.

To center my wheel, I have simply removed the spline and reinstll the wheel. Other than that, you adjust the tie rod.
