Reese 5th Wheel Rails vs. Bedrug (Help)?

I am installing 5th Wheel rails this weekend and with my sport lid and Bed-rug installed I don't know what to do with the rug. I will remove rug and lid for the install. And then put it back in, but... ...



1. Can I install the rails and bolt them down on top of the bed-rug? It is basically just outdoor carpet.



All help, and or options will be appreciated.

You don't want anything between rail and bed or bolts won't stay tight and rails will work back and forth. You might measure and drill then put rails down on mat with bolts in loose then cut mat around rails removing whats under rail before reassembly. That is wat I did with bedliner in my '96, but I dont know how you are going to keep edges down unless you want to glue it down around rails. I hope this helps-Kevin
