Need some input guys-just bought a new travel trailer and I'm gonna need a new weight distributing hitch. The dealer has Reese and Blue Ox. The Blue Ox seems alot easier to hitch/unhitch over the Reese model. Anyone out there using the Blue Ox?? Thanks in advance.

I don't know anything about the Blue Ox hitches, but I've been using Reese hitches for many years. I would expect that both brands will do the job.

One thought, though: Reese is a popular brand. Parts can be found in just about any town in America. I doubt that the same can be said for Blue Ox. In spite of availability of support, I've never needed a part for any of my Reese hitches on any sort of emergency basis. I did recently buy a pair of chain attachment hooks (that mount on the trailer) from a local dealer in Cincinnati. No waiting. I had ruined my original ones by having an equalizer hitch head mounted at an improper angle. It was the trailer dealer's fault, not Reese's.

I am currently using a Reese weight-distributing frame hitch attached to the factory receiver. I also use a Reese 20K fifth- wheel hitch. I just had a Reese gooseneck hitch installed which I haven't tried yet.

You probably won't go wrong with either one. I'm sure you wouldn't go wrong with Reese.

I use the Reese equipment on my '96 Ram. They have a bullet proof reputation. I have the dual rails in the bed for the removeable "Goose" assembly for towing a 24 foot flatbed and stock trailer. I use a Reese coupler in the factory receiver under the rear for the RV trailer. That's just an 18 foot..... hey, I used to pull it with a Ford 302. The Cummins barely knows its back there. Reese is excellent. Jerry.

I have used Blue Ox tow bars and they are a very good setup. Never have seen a Weight Distributing Hitch made by them. I prefer to use Draw-Tite but Reese makes a great product as well.
