Has this been done?
I am looking for a TDR form I can print out and keep in my truck, to be effective in soliciting new members. This form would have a number on it that represents my TDR ID. After x new members are conscripted then a trinket is sent to the conscriptor.
If a trinket could not be sent then maybe paypal cash, TDR stickers or an additional issue added to my subscription.
What is the catch for the new member? Why would a new TDR member mail in the pre printed form with my ID? Because if they do they get some sticker/trinket with the first issue of TDR!
What does this do? It could greatly increase the number of TDR members and increase the funds to keep TDR alive. The best advertising is word of mouth/testimonials.
BTW I think members should be able to buy gift subscriptions for family members or up to 2 friends for 50% off. The more people who read the TDR the more who will buy a CTD. The more who buy a CTD will surely need a TDR membership.
Another way to sell more issues of TDR: Start a program with the dealers that each new CTD owner gets one issue free. Another option is have the dealer foot the first years subscription for the new CTD owner.
If the dealer had a complimentary issue in the dealership this too would help.
