Anyone tried one of the Reflexions cowl hoods. Seems it is the only one in steel. How was the fit. Thanks RJ

drice from Dallas Texas area has one. It looks very sweet. I have seen it several times, and the fit appears excellent. Try to shoot him a PM or email.

Look in my readers ride section for pictures of my hood. Reflexxion make a very high quality part that fits very well with little to no bodywork. Kurt.

M-D Member Jetpilot has the steel cowl from them on his Slick Black Bottle Rocket. I am not sure if he has pics posted so I'll dig thru our recent show pics and see if I can find one for you... Andy

Ok...

Here is the best one of his truck with it ON the truck properly. The other I have from that weekend had it sitting up on the bedcover waiting for them to finish the headgasket install... ... ... Andy

You can also check the readers rigs section for my truck... I have the Reflexxions cowl induction hood. Very nice build quality.

check the link below in signature for a flamed version. .

all after market steel hoods require some adjustment fitting. . no two trucks are fitted together at the factory the same and shipping will warp them sometimes... any skilled painter / body shop does this all the time with skins and body parts... . however the factory is very close !!

WILL NEED SOME WORK

I have it on my truck and it will need some work... .

It doesn't line up well with the sport grill very well and the top two corners of the scoop at the windshield are not a very good match. (one is rounded more than the other).

This is my second one and the first was a perfect bolt on... Wish I hadn't sold it now. Oh well the body shop can work it all out if the dealer won't take it back. (long story but I ordered it a long time ago and the place I bought it from sent it to the body shop direct and thay already primed it)

Bigbaddodge from the pictures it looks like that might be a functional scoop. Steel is the way to go.

What is the noise factor without the insulation. Painting the bottom side must have been fun. Thanks RJ

I put one on my 2001 Sport. I am happy with the way it fits. When I put it on, I reinstalled the hood insulation. After a few weeks I noticed the air brought in from the back of the new hood was pushing my insulation down. I took the insulation out and didn't notice much difference in the sound level. The vent on the back of the hood is open so its does let in more turbo sound, with or without the hood insulation.

Yeah I really didn't care to much about the sound, but yes it is functional will push the insulation down. What I had planned on doing earlier but haven't gotten to it, was a 3" body lift and then fabricate a plennum over to the air intake for the twins I think that would be trick :D

Is there anything negative to having an open scoop on the hood, besides the insulation and noise issue? Is there a water problem? Thanks RJ

no negatives. . water or dirt

I didn't notice any additional noise... BUT I'm half deaf anyway... . also have a Scotty II and HX40 so my noise is higher anyway. .
