IS there a "haul my stuff" thread?

Lube plate for fifth wheel

I have a Dometic that is caught up in the recall RM3862, Today I wasw told by my repair shop the April 16 is the date when they can call Dometic and try and order the repair kit. Who knows when they will be shipped or the repairs can be made.

Since we go ti Idaho for the summer,4 months, I whnt to have the refer in good shape so I am considering replacing it. I know it might be expensive but I don't want to be without one while waiting for repairs.

Now I have some choices.

Replace with the same unit, go for the new NDR units, or even change brands Norcold.

Anybody done any of this that want to pass on some words of wisdom?

This AM OK Trailer (where we purchased our HH II) of Shelly, ID called and said that the recall repair parts were in. We made an appointment for Wed April 4 to have it installed, they said that it would only take about 45 minutes to install. Where in ID dou spend the summer?

Will pass the info on to my repair shop. 45 min seems fast as I think they have to pull the unit.
We summer in Hope on the shores of Lake Pend Orelle

No, they don't have to pull the unit. Everything is done from the opening in back of the refer. I just changed the heater in my trailer, took 5 min. What the repair does is more involved but is still done in back.

Will this repair fix the problem of faulty refrigerant tubes or just protect Dometic from liability?

I had checked my tube and could see nothing wrong so I changed out to the lower wattage heater so I hopefully won't have this problem. If there is already damage, changing the heater won't help, too late. What Dometic is doing is some how wraping the tube so the refrigerent can't get to the flame when on propane. Check out www.rv.net they have a long discussion going under "Fifth Wheels" and "Tech" topics.

Jaird,

I've been reading on rv.net that some people have been reimbursed for their refrig. You could check with Dometic about it. Good Luck
