Regen?

Sorry guys, maybe I missed something here. I have tried to find out what indication people are looking at to tell if your truck is in "Regen" mode. Some say the over head, some say the check engine light. I have had 1 check engine light indication in 7,000 mile and 1 time where the overhead said "Cat 80% full". I do not have a monitor or programmer or even gauges, it has never been to the dealer and the first oil change was at 4,200 miles?? I sort of feel left out because I have nothing to complain about on my truck. It gets a consistent 15 MPG on my daily commute and pulls my 5er just fine the way it was purchased. Honestly I am not worried about when and how many times it goes into Regen, just curious about the monitoring capabilities of the unit. This is the greatest piece of machinery that I have ever owned and I don't even complain about the payments. I kind of feel left out, by the way most are talking about their 6. 7's.

Garlic I am in the same boat as you

7k and no real issues. I also have no gauges or programmers. as I understand it Chrysler set this up to be unnoticed by the driver and I think the only way to tell is with a pyrometer to read the EGT's to see when it is going on or a programmer. I have been thinking of adding an Edge Juice with Attitude. I have been waiting for Chrysler to get through all these flash updates and hearing more feedback on them. My truck has more power than I need but for the money it's nice because they have all the readings of the gauges and much more.

If you want to read what is going on with the DPF and not worry about a programmer try the MSD Dash Hawk. It simply plugs into your OBDII port and can moniter the DPF and much more with no warranty concerns. On the 6. 7L engines I believe it can aslo do EGTs without a probe since there are sensors for the that before and after the DPF.

I have the DashHawk and it's still in the design and discovery phase for monitoring the DPF on the 6. 7. I can tell when it goes into Regen on the display but there is more available from the ECM/PCM about the emissions system that MSD hasn't figured out yet.
