Well, I bought the Smarty 67 and 5 inch alum steel turbo back with muffler flo pro from Rolling Smoke Diesel, $900 here in 3 days from James, the go to man. Its almost installed, I have a 21 boy am walking thru the remove and install. We started at 3 pm today and got it all off easy with 3 cans of Blaster, i used a 1/2 impact and put the truck up on my 44 foot gooseneck hauler trailer to work on. We started at the tailpipe and worked our way forword, lots of blaster and had to wear a cap and safelty glasses to make sure no dirt in eyes or ears. We lowered the crossmemeber and removed the plastic inner fender to acces the turbo clamp, no stripped bolts or any on any sensor, ran out of time after we got the giant 5 inch down pipe installed and will resume with the rest of the kit install in the morning. So far everything is going ok, after i get the truck going i am going to power wash my pdf on video and upload it to utube so u can see how much carbon is plugging it up, i dont know if this is normal or not but i beleive it is about plugged up, if you have folowing my truck on here this pdf was installed new after the 1th one caught on fire back at the 55,000 miles or so. My truck was acting like it was starving for air or fuel right before the cel light came on and 100 per cent full. Its a shame i cant tell what made it plug up, was it time for the pdf to go, or was it because the egr was carboned up or some sensor went out and kept it out of regen?? What a flawed stytem!!!! I was stunned on th eamount of carbon inside everything, i have had 5 d8 cats and a d9 plus tons of other engines, i have never seen so much carbon in an engine componets, i dread how much fuel and carrbon is in th eoil in the engine right now, i am going to change it all out before the truck goes back on the road in case it has too much fuel in oil and might smoke the bearings. I also discovered the rear t/c case seal was leaking. Tormorow will b taping up eveything and trying to get the new 5 inch flopro installed and the smarty 67 installed as well. All i have to do is work over the egr motor some odds and ends. Hopefully will get it going enuff to also drive it some but not on road until seal is replaced and oil and filter changed.
