Western Regional Fall Rally 2001

The Fall Rally will be held in Pahrump, Nevada for 2001. The Pahrump Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge dealership, Rick Peet, has enthusiastically agreed to sponsor this rally.

Rick Peet Dodge in Pahrump NV (about an hour out of Las Vegas) wants us to take over the whole town for the event! In case you haven't visited Pahrump in recent years, it has really grown and has top notch casinos, RV parks, etc. now. The event will take place on December 15, 2001, 9AM-5PM. The dealership is just off Highway 160, between Oxbow and Basin ( coming from Las Vegas, turn right on Oxbow). Most of the snowbirds have left Pahrump for Christmas, but be sure to make your RV park and hotel reservations as soon as possible. In addition to the traditional activities for a one-day TDR event, we will have a dyno available, operated by Dynojet. We will hold a Show-n-shine, have coffee and doughnuts, lunch, vendors, and hold technical seminars during the day.

For this event, there will not be a single host hotel or RV park, for those who wish to stay overnight. Pahrump is a relatively small town and many of the businesses there are anxious to accommodate us in any way they can. We have identified four hotel and RV park facilities. Terrible’s Lakeside RV Park and Casino has a lake, fishing, swimming, and 160 RV spaces (775-751-7770 or www.terribleherbst.com). It is a few blocks away from the other sites but has great amenities. Saddle West Hotel, Casino, and RV Park (800-433-3987 or www.saddlewest.com), Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino (775-751-6500) and Best Western Hotel and RV Park (775-727-5100) are also participating. Please identify yourself as Turbo Diesel Register Rally participants when you make your reservations.

Lawrence (Diesel Dynamics) asked Dynojet to bring their portable dyno to Pahrump for the Dec. 15 show. Dynojet personnel will operate the dyno. I talked with some vendors at the Tulare show last weekend and anticipate a good turnout for December 15.

With the cancellation of the Dec. 1 Dieselfest by Glenn Thomas (they are doing construction work at their location), I hope some Southen Cal. Ramers will come to alleviate rally withdrawal symptoms :D Make a turn at Baker from I-15 and take the back way to Pahrump to avoid some miles and traffic.

One month away! If you are bringing an RV, the Lakeside is a premium place but fills up early. Many of the snowbirds have left by Dec. 15 for Christmas so you may be able to get a space. C'mon, guys, I know it costs a bit more than Tulare but you'll like it. Ain't full hookups worth something--well, not quite full until Blair shows up with his margarita hookup :D

Should be thousands of people there :D What else is there to do in Pahrump? All the residents will be there and "hundreds" of Rammers.

Also, a correction: Dynojet will operate the dyno, not Diesel Dynamics. Thus, there will be no question of bias when DD gets the biggest numbers (and they really plan to do so!).

Dec. 15th!

Joe . . I plan on attending even if to get out of the cold for a few days. :D Others of you planning to attend, show Joe some support and post your intrests.

This will be my first event, making a reservation today. Looking forward to meeting some of the people that have given me so much insight and help through the posts they have made and learning a lot more about what else I can do to my truck. :D

I already have that day off of work so I guess it is time to stretch the cummins legs on a ROAD TRIP!! :D :D

Gotta see if I can win 1st place in show N shine again:cool:

See ya'll down there.

Eric

I'm there!

Ok, Cummingetme, you shamed me into going. If you are going that far I can surely make the two hundred miles my trip would be. Gonna hook up the trailer, grab the wife and junior and head to Terrible's Lakeside Casino and RV park. Just reserved a spot on the lake. Can't wait!!

Sam

To all who are going, I am bringing a stock of my winter guards to the meet.

I have 1st, 2nd Gen and Sport models I will have about 20-30 each there.

where is the dyno going to be placed? and the other events?

where would the best place where most people will be? is there going to be a hall of "gottahavits"?

As is traditional for these one-day events, the vendors will set up at the dealership in the service bays. For this inaugural event, vendor spaces do not have an additional charge. Like I said, just register for the event.

Joe, can you post the names of the vendors who will be there with their gotta havits? I don't want to show up there underfunded:D

Sam

I don't have a vendor list yet, but there should be a number of them. Bring all your money :D

Dyno time will be free, as in NO CHARGE, courtesy of Dynojet.

Why would anyone want to drive somewhere else and PAY for dyno time
