No. Cal Chapter?

Snow, roads???

Those of you familiar with the area... What's the roads expected to like?

How about heading up this way? I have this nagging fear of getting "stuck" somewhere with closed roads...

I was just looking at yahoo maps and you can take the coastal route which is about a 100 miles longer if 95 gets snowed out. Even though the distance is longer the travel times could be about the same. Those extra lanes make a difference.

Power wagon,

I drive double trailers on trucks all the time and recently there have been closures on the cabbage hill due to wind and in some places there have been white-outs and ice on the road. Lovely day for a dive, huh?

But all in all, if you drive during the day and the temps are up, the plows are able to keep up and keep traffic moving.

I do 3 round trips to portland per week with a partner and we do 5600 miles/week. we have had to wait a 4 hour stretch here and there for wind or ice but those were in the early am. not bad all in all.

I got the maps out and looked at that... Yeah, you can take I-5 up, but near the Oregon - California border you go through the mountains again. Taking 101 up the coastline only works if it's not below freezing at sea level.

If the roads are ok, then 95 cuts off some miles, but it's a snake's back up to the interstate. Nasty if it gets slick...

I was also wondering about the likelyhood of bad roads up north through Nevada.

What's snow?

Seriously, though, there could be some in northern Nevada--just check the weather boys. Of course, they predicted snow here today, but instead it is the usual sunny, beautiful southern Nevada day.

My guess is around 30-35 at night, 55-60 deg daytime in Pahrump Dec. 15.

Won't be like Alaska which I predict will be "clear and still" meaning "clear up to your *** and still snowing. " :D

JD, for those of us who don't know if we are coming until the last second, could we just bring the registration form and pay upon arrival?

Vaughn

By the way I just checked the weather today

Pahrump, NV @ 1pm 46F

Pasco, WA @ 1pm 47F

Now if we can keep it like that, with good roads inbetween then we'll be set. Maybe we should move this thing up to the NW since it's a touch warmer here :D :D

You can register and pay at the door. It's just hard to be sure we have enough food etc. if a lot of folks do that.

Sure, why not have a TDR meet in the NW--are you volunteering?

:D

Who will be the first to get 700 hp on the Dynojet? ;)

Just under a week left!

Just taking it to the top!!!! I will be there for sure... May have a surprise or two? Heber :D

I will be picking up my truck in Las Vegas on Friday night.

I'll stop on my way out of town for home, and try to meet and shake hands with a few of you.

TTT

No surprises, Jim? Hmmm, how many head gaskets will you blow on the dyno Saturday?

You should be getting a quantity discount from Cummins on them :D

Poor old Sickly, with the ideal and correct number of valves, has never lost a head gasket  Course, he only needs 36 psi boost to make 565 hp. Take that, you overboosters :p

joe

this last gasket was totaly my fault. i was testing and tuning some new things on my truck, they worked great. so good that i blew my 2nd gasket. but all was not lost i learned some things from the testing and it shouldn't happen again. if it does happen again a copper gasket will be going in.

this dang over valved, over compresion, headgasket eating, wimpy pumped poor excuse for a motor. :)

see you guys sat.

jim
