No. Cal Chapter?

Don M,

Cord pulled 446 hp with his little 175 HP pump. We installed his new 215 HP pump and couldn't get the timing to hold. After the second slippage we just went in my truck to make a run. The event was supposed to last until 5pm and we arrived just in time at 2:30 to watch them taking down the dyno. :(

What a disappointment. I heard something about the electronics going out.

Joe was whinning like a little baby about the poor air quality and how he was down 50 HP. :)

It's funny that Cord posted his best numbers ever in this weather. I guess the laws of physics are different for Texans. I'm going to convince Cord to hang around until the air gets better. If what Joe says is true, Cord could top 500HP with a 175 HP pump.

Hey Chris,

that is really great for the small pump.

Im amazed. The dynojet corrects for cooler air. I will assume some of that was from the correction in the software.

Too bad the big pump did not get a chance to work out yet.

How long are you guys staying up there? I was hoping to get my cylinder head back via the Cord Reynolds express:D

Suggestion: maybe a new cam gear to grab the pump shaft better.

Was it humid? That hurts too. I just dont think of Pahrump as humid.

Don~

I was real pleased with getting 446HP from the small pump. I'm sure that some of it was due to the correction factor,... . but not all of it:D . The truck really felt stronger than my last run at 423. It would have been nice to dyno at the same place as before, however I couldn't wait that long to install the new pump:D . I was disappointed that I was unable to dyno with the new pump. I plan on making a run tommorrow afternoon to see what she's at.

Hi there... Back in my pump tech days, our procedure was to clean the end of the pump, the gear, AND the shaft with a very volatile spray cleaner, like brake cleaner, and then using a piece of chalk, to make a line or two or three across the face of the shaft where it contacts the gear, then torque the snot out of it.

The interference fit between the gear and shaft really binds up tight when you get enough torque AND the traces of talc from the chalk.
