P. S. check out readers rigs to see 02... ..... For Sale

Just a consideration in your decision is resale value. I tried to sell my 97 regualar cab CTD when I bought my 2003. Almost ever caller wanted a quad cab. I think I could have sold the truck many times over had it not been a regular cab. Whatever the quad cost extra back then I would have got back at resale. FWIW.

MLimpert, Nice Truck. :)

It's amazing how the market has changed. In '93 when Dodge first brought out the second gen they only had a regular cab for the whole first model year (94). :{

There's no way any manufacturer would do that now.

I love my reg cab '03. It's a rare bird being a reg cab, let alone being a 4x2 2500 6-speed 2WD sport.

There's a ton of space behind the seat, you can fit suitcases or tools or whatever else back there. Another added bonus to the regular cab is the doors are about 6" longer, making access in and out way easy. Also, on the regular cab door panels, there is one extra cubbyhole for storing junk. As for weight, the my truck weighs in at about 6200, which is fairly heavy for a regular cab, especially a 2WD. Compare that to 6750 for my friend's '02 4x4 QC longbed auto.

All in all I love the truck and wouldn't trade it for a 4-door model. :cool:

I gotta agree with Casey. Been trying to sell my 1999 Reg Cab 3500 for several months now and everyone wants the quad cab. Altho I did have some folks interested in it until they were told it is a 2wd.

I am wanting to upgrade to the quad cab to haul my folks when the need arises.

I may be wrong here( wouldn't be the first time now, would it) , but I thought the regular cab and the quads used the same door. :confused:

No, reg cab and QC trucks have different doors. The reg cab is quite a bit larger. I notice it all the time when I hop in a QC truck and pull it in the shop. The larger doors are sweeeeeet. All they need to do now is use the big doors up front, and put some full sized ones in the back... Ya know, a REAL crew cab...

Thanks everyone

Thanks a bunch to all of you out there in Reg CAb land for the helpful info. The reason I am going to get a standard cab is cost. It is all I can make to pay for a second brand new truck in a row. The cost of this one will put me back even where i was with the 02, but I will have a new truck. In 2002 when I went in to order mine, the sales man and my dad talked me out of a reg cab 6 speed. Now when I go to do it a second time I will go with what I think looks and drives best. Anyway thanks again and send more photos.

I'll try to remember to get pics of mine tonight... it is basically a light almond metallic version of Ladyjaine's truck, even the same (or very similar) shell... .

I Love mine, and will probably only regret not having a quadcab in a few years when I have a child... but until then I'll enjoy parking in the garage, and being able to make tight turns!

tiny shot of it in panorama form!

Close! Magnolia to be exact... Between 36th & 37th, up near the water tower. Here's a pic of my other truck for perspective on the area...

DK, I love the turning radius too, especially with the 2WD rack & pinion steering. Sweeeeeet! :D
