An "EXHAUSTING" Question

How much HP do gauges add?

Truck has absolutely NO power, and runs very rough. Sets about 17 codes on the dash, from "too high of fuel rail pressure" to "Injection pump fuel valve feedback" to "ECM/PCM Power input signal intermittent".

What would cause this? There are no boxes on the truck right now, just trying to get it to run!

Double checked all ground wires, etc. that I could find. Gauges show proper oil pressure, temperature, and charging voltage.

don't know about 03's but on the earlier ones the throttle has to be set/reset if messed with. . might read the book on that issue and see if it's bitting you on the butt. . worth a look at anyway IMHO

Pirate, I would say double check all the connections then check them agin! theres so many that you just never know. Sorry to hear about this, Hope you get er goin soon.

Talked to a Dodge mechanic tonight, and he said the truck is running in limp mode, and we need to clear all the codes out with a scanner, and it should run. We'll see tomorrow. Snap on man here we come!

Good luck! Maybe "rebooting" the computer by clearing the codes will fix it all. I imagine there's a "learning" period for the ECM too, just like on auto transmissions.

Did you score chief? On the way to Farmington? Healing going well?

I'm not going to Farmington. My wife is too sick. :(

Update - reset all the codes and am still getting two codes.

"too high of fuel rail pressure" and "Injection pump fuel valve feedback"

Trying to find the cause of this now.

Since you are down to 2 codes now, could it possibly be a couple of identical harness connectors for 2 different sensors/functions hooked up crossed. I haven't had a chance to look under my hood yet to see if it is physically possible yet. Hopefully the solution can be something this simple.

I guess I have to be the one to ask the stupid question. Why did you take your motor out of such a new truck? Seems pretty cool though that you were gutzy enough to do it to such a new truck!!!!

Pirate4x4 had a turbo come appart and he pulled the motor out to check all the internal parts and get it all set up for his new twin turbos! :D

Bingo. Some turbo debris was stuck under the valves holding them open. Since I had the head off, I o-ringed and studded it. :D

Nice pirate! But im still holding you to giving my a ride in that beast when you get er' all dialed in! Any chance of making it to Ukiah this weekend for the pulls?
