I want to add relays to the headlight wiring on my 99 Dodge 3500. Can anyone tell me when they went from switched power to switched ground? When I checked power at the headlight harness plug I had 11-12V at pins

A-VT/RD & C-RD/OR on low beam and A-VT/RD & B-VT/WT on high beam. Should it be showing voltage at two of the pins on both low & high beams?

Thanks

Rick.

I found my fluke VOM is to good - with ac/+dc & -dc the meter jumps around, etc.

The best for a on/off is one of those $4 lighted ice pick testers. With headlight switch OFF,

switch using hot= first look for ground wire (tester lead on + battery). Then find low & high wire with tester lead on -battery and the headlight switch in on position.
