Bmoeller,,

Thank you so much!! You are a good example of the camaraderie that one feels on the TDR forums.

I moved from WA to IA in 76 and raised my kids in Solon just N of IA City. We left after they were out of college and moved to Colorado Springs. (job with MCI)

One of my sons and family still reside in IA City. I have family farm interest in WA and therefore the travel between these three locations.

BTW, I am very proud of the fact my kids grew up in the midwest. I drove OTR for a short spell in 2003 mostly up and down the east coast. One load I had to pick up was dog food somewhere in N IL, I cant remember the name of the town. But i tell you what,, there was the darndest feeling of comming back home when I got to the midwest after all those miles in the east. I cant explain it. .

Your offer to help if I need it is a fine example of that midwest friendliness.

Thank you again bmoeller.

You're quite welcome. I'm only about a hour away from Iowa City. :) Get through there fairly often with the KW.

I'm originally from IA myself.

What hose should be replaced vaughn?

do you plan on a future rebuild?
EBottema, the hard line (fuel supply) going to the injection pump from the filter canister. Yes, I will probably keep the truck and do a rebuild. Since the cylinders still look good it should only need a hone and rings, but it would get new (better) pistons from Piers, gapless second ring, balanced, and um. . . lesse . . . yeah, a CAM :D

I have 162K on my 98 3500. I got it four years ago with 61K on it and up until a year ago it was a daily driver. Now it stays in the garage until it's time to dawn it's 11' cab-over and tow car trailer with off roading early Bronco. It's one of my babies and it gets well takin' care of. I'm hoping for the one million mile mark. The main reason I think I'll make that mark is that I don't run it over 60 mph. Normal rpm range is 2K while shifting though the gears and 15 to 1600 rpms at cruise. After I swap for the 4. 10s the rpms will go up some but the load on the engine will go down.
