Reliability of the keyless door lock on exterior handle

Does anybody's door lock on the handle of the driver or passenger door actually work reliably? I believe it's part of the keyless entry system.

On my truck it almost never works the first time and often not until the fourth press. My wife's Toyota Highlander has a similar feature except that it works reliably.

I've not really complained to the dealer as it just has the feeling of something that will make me more angry do to apathy or a pain-inducing swapping of random items. If it seems I'm the only one, I might make an effort to get it resolved.

I have had it on several vehicles and it always worked great. Have you tried locking it from the passenger side to see if it works the same? No trouble unlocking?

Mine works just fine...as long as I do not "confuse" it by getting my fingers behind the handle at the same time as I'm trying to lock it.
I sometimes subconsciously let my fingers slide behind the handle in an attempt to hold it as I lock it...it does not respond well to that!

Not the easiest button to push correctly. Seems how you push it makes a difference. I am now in the habit of using the arm rest lock button as I swing around to climb down from the cab! Chris

Both front doors on my 2016 have worked fine....... On my 2014, the driver side handle was possessed.....

Mine takes three pushes of the lock button more often than one. It seems if I touch the metal of the handle even on the outside surface while pushing the button it gets confused. Both doors work the same.

The only time mine has acted weird is when my spare key is inside. It will finally lock after about 3 presses.

Mine has a mind of its own. Sometime it works other times it does not. Not just the handle button. Some time it is the key fob as well. Will have dealer look at it if I ever go to a dealer.

I had issues as described above, but had the button replaced and it works great now.

With u connect, just use cell to start, lock, unlock and find location . Plus get notifications if the truck is tampered with...

dfb you are correct. U connect is fantastic technology. I started my truck when it was 800 miles away. Very nice to fall back on.
