Once again though, thank you all for the great input. Sean

Same here guys. This thread is already getting some great comments because folks are being rational and using candor.

One another note, I went "window" shopping this morning. I went to 2 ford dealers and 1 dodge dealer. None of them had a single manual transmission truck on their lot and I bet I looked at 40 trucks between them. It's a conspiracy if you ask me. I'll probably have to go up to Utah in ranch country to find manual transmission trucks on lots.

BHolm,

How did you get 2 '03 HOs with auto? When I ordered mine, the 6spd was the only way to get the HO. I've never been an auto fan anyway, so it didn't matter to me, just curious.

I think the HO / 48RE came out mid '03. A guy where I work has one.

I bought them both off the lot in the spring of 2003. At the time I thought autos were the way to go on these trucks but hadn't bought one prior to '03 because I thought it was a joke to have to take a lower powered engine just to get the auto. Once I heard the HO was availible with an auto, it was time to go shopping. The next work trucks will likely be manuals, unless of course DC comes out with a 5-6 sp auto and makes it work with an exhaust brake.

I guess that makes sense, I ordered around Thanksgiving of '02 and just remember being told after I said "HO" ... ..... "you have to get the 6spd for that" ... ... ..... I said "and your point?" :-laf
