Corvette ZR1 shakedown on the autobahn

corberson1 I thank that if you will set down and read lyman reloading books. 47-48 it will help any one that is starting to reload!! "I use lyman and lee reloaders" . It covers powder primers and every thing from A TO Z . It also cover shooting up hill and down also about holding the gun not touching the barrel. I do not deprime my brass till it is cleaned. If you do the primer pocket gets so it does not hold the primers tight. I use a pact high speed precision powder dispenser with pact digital precision powder scale. IT is very sensitive to any air moving also needs to be on 30min before using. I reload from 32 up to 375 in hand guns 223 243 257 25. 06 270 30. 06 300 win mag we kill alought of paper. I also use lee powder dispenser for the small hand guns. I use a lought of accurate powder some winchester 231

depriming

Cases that have crimped in or waterproofed primers can be deprimed with the Lee deprimer and a mallet. One way to deprime berdan cases is to place the case over something with a hole in it to give the primer a place to go, fill the case with water and insert a tight fitting dowel into the neck. Hit the dowel with a mallet and out pops the primer. You might want to try this outside.

I'm glad to see this forum. I've been reloading since 1977.

Range Report

Made up some '06 rounds for use in my M1's, tested the first ones in a bolt gun at 100 yards (prone, sling, shooting coat, no artificial rest and mat) into an SR-1 NRA bullseye target. Shot the first one down range at a square bang plate, went thud, that's good. Shot the next 3 at the SR-1, 6 O'Clock hold, put 3 in 1". That was nice, no problems. M1 Time, been a while, but in the black they went, but not as nice as the first 3.

The rest of the story, the "mule" for the first shots was a Remington 03-A3 2 groove, CMP as rec'd. That WWII vintage bolt gun laid em downrange with all the professionalism that you could ask for, I wish my M1 did as well, but that is something to work on.

That was just good times working that slick bolt and sharp front blade.

Deer rifle update, put a new Nikon Monarch on mine replacing a 60's vintage Redfield, you can see stuff at low light in the Monarch that is just fuzz in the old Redfield.
