2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Relocate the batteries?

I am looking for experience about relocating the twin batteries to the bed of the truck. I have a need to install a D8 or D10 for powering an inverter. The battery and inverter would occupy a tool box so they would be protected from the elements.
