Alright... ???'s I got a 98. 5 24v and just got a trans out of a 99 V10 w/75000 miles and little towing , I was told the trans will bolt up fine , but 2 swap converters... If this is true than I should put a new one in... what and where are some of the converters you guys would suggest... I want better take off and something that will match a Edge chip when I get one... . or what ever one you guyz suggest is best for value. . Here is the other part. Truck had dead pedal syndrome , than died-replaced life pump. . 1 week later died again ended up replacing vp44 - my *** still hurts... 4 days after died again... . wanted 2 blow this Mfn pos up- so go through some diagnostics and can get it... I go crazy. . let the thing sit for 1 1/2 months and than a friend said lets pressure check the fuel , than told him all the new parts, he did it anyway. . Bad new lift pump... got warranty from cummings. . going 2 get pump in the tank one next... BUT still have the dead pedal crap. . And now between 2200-3500 Rpm's when driving only I hear a kind of high pitch wheeze like a dry diaphragm. . Any clues????

Mahalo for any help

The sound you hear could be a bad aftercooler hose or loose hose clamp. that would also lead to poor throttle response as you are loosing your boost pressure from turbo. do you notice if it smokes badly on acceleration.

Mahalo guys for the tips !!! I didn't think about the valve body , makes sense ,but R you 100% sure ??? I also have not had time 2 check out the aftercooler hose , due 2 all the F-n rain we are getting , it seems I should trade my truck in 4 an ark..... I will try 2 research the dead pedal thing somemore , but if anyone has any ideas... .

Aloha

I would check with a professional transmission shop on the transmission. Some years the v-10 used a different pump than the CTD. Because the CTD operated at lower RPM's than the v-10. Not having the right pump could cause lubrication issues.

Again, I'm not sure if this is one of the years included or not.

Don't know about this dead pedal stuff. First thing I would do is check the tps to make sure there no dead spots in the voltage from that.

I would change the Valve bodies in the trans with the convertor and install a transom shift improver kit.

You bought A Cummings engine and it come with a Dodge Chassie.

Talk with a cat @ DTT said just swap valve bodies. . I'll have 2 get back 2 the tps deal... I do want 2 know more on on the aftercooler deal... But let me look @ it first still F-n raining here and I work on da ground in da open... .

Aloha
