Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) remote computer VP44

Does anyone think it is possible to take a VP44 and remove the computer on top to make it remote maybe in the cab? Its probably been asked before but I wonder if anyone has even tried??

No one's tried I'm aware of, but there is a 4 or 6 conductor ribbon cable under the top cover and PSG (electronics board) that connect to a rotation/position sensor inside, and 4 wires attached externally.



Dunno how sensitive those leads are to length or other stray external effects, but see no reason it couldn't be moved to a friendlier location - we just need someone brave enough to tear up a good working VP-44 to try it! :-laf :-laf
