Remote Start w/6spd

Does anyone know if you can get a remote start to go w/ a 6spd manual.

Yep, I've got one on mine. Its an Astro Start and I had an Astro Start dealer install it. Mine was pretty spendy though... first off the manual transmission adds cost because of an extra switch that is used on the parking brake(the remote starter won't work unless your parking brake is engaged)... there is another switch that is used (which adds cost) which waits for the grid heater to cycle... and there is a third switch that's added to override the security system (gray ignition key=security system; black ignition key=no security system). So with all that I think mine came to a total of about $472. XX installed and out the door.



Even though it was pretty spendy, I really like it though and consider it almost a must here in ND. Mine remote has a range of 2000 feet and seems to work pretty well when I'm in buildings.

I've got a compustar in mine. Same thing, pretty spendy. Mine works up to a mile away and gives you visual confirmation if my truck started or not.

Did you use a regular installer or someone that specializes in diesels???? Scott

I used just a regular installer. When I picked up my truck there was a Hummer H2 and a Ferrari in the shop getting worked on, so the place that I went to was more than just the run of the mill shop. Check out www.compustar.org I've been impressed with mine.
