I just had a great remote start installed in my truck with all kinds of options on it, it works great, then only thing I don't like is that when the park lights are supposed to flash ,stay on with the cool down timer activated or flash for various other functions the head lights come on as well. Now when the cool down timer shuts off the head lights stay on for there usuall shut down time as if you forgot to shut them off when you turned the truck off. Does any body know of a wire that I could tap into that would activate the park lights only? I could likely change this my self instead of taking it back to the shop. I have the wiring diagram for the remote start if I just knew which wire to reattach it ti on the truck.

I know this is a tough question.

Appreciate any help,Thanks,Rob

The relay is already there,it just seems like they plumbed it to the wire that feed s the head lights instead of just the marker lights. Usually with the truck in park you can turn the marker lights on with out the daytime running lights coming on and then whe you pull it into drive the daytime runnung lights come on automatically, I thought if that relay was wierd to just the marker light wire the n the head light issue would be solved, maybe not. With any remote start functions the truck is always in park so you would think you should be able to get the marker lights to work without the head lights.

Thanks,Rob

Some vehicles will display lamp out light if you wire into only Park Lights. that why you need a seperate Relay for the shut down Timer.

ok heres the deal. They probably used the white and light green wire behind the light switch. They must relay isolate this wire and put a 1130 ohm resitor to ground. If this is how they did it then they either dont have a good chasis ground or have the wrong resistance value. If they went under the hood for the wires they definitely did this the hard way. Any other questions just lemme know. Ive got 9 years of experience with these things. :-laf
