Anyone ever put a remote start and a manual 12v? I know they state they are for autos for safety reasons. but it would be cool. . Let me know if you like it and what one you used and ease of installation

Remote start for manual

Hey

Designtech and Auto command (same company) and many others make a remote starts for manuals. They can be found on ebay and pepboys, and probably other automotive sites.

If your getting it for a diesel make sure it has a wait to start option, it runs off your manifold heater light.

Just because it says diesel option don't bet that it has wait to start , it usally means extended crank.

other companies have models that have turbo cool down timers .

On ebay just do a search on remote start manual, and if that don't work take off manual and start reading.

I've put a few design tech on cars it takes time to do it right, and they work great . worst part most times was finding wires, but 12volt.com is a big help for that. Still looking for a deal on ebay for one on my truck, had a couple and didn't bid enough. :(

Do you know if autocommand has a turbo idle timer for shutdown? Also, does the manual version not allow truck to start if it is left in gear??

Yes, do a search on Designtech and I'm pretty sure they explain it somewhere, I'll try to find it and post it.

Thanks for the info... Only problem is the truck im looking at is ST (no power locks) I want to convert to a keyless entry/power locks. I dont want to drill the door panel so i was looking and autoloc has a nice setup. trying to figure out if i could get everything to work on one remote... anyone convert to power doors ???

thanks

You can go to Ebay and buy kits , same they use on Hot Rods.

Just do a search on power door locks or lock and you'll get more than you want .

Then you can just hook it up to your remote car start with keyless entry .

And you won't have to drill your door panel .
