I have an 05 4x4 dually. I installed the Mopar remote starter kit. Everything went on fine and the remote starter works good. It took me a bit to figure out, but when starting the truck with the remote starter, it will cause the transmission to stay in 3rd gear. I had to take off from a stop sign in 3rd gear and going down the road, it will not upshift to overdrive or downshift. I can shut the truck off for 15-20 seconds, start the truck back up and the transmission will shift fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you changed the pressure\temp transducer and gov solenoid lately? It could be just coincidental or it could be the remote start has aggravated a connection issue somehwere. Are you getting any CEL's? Does this ever happen if you do not use the remote start?

Had a remote start put in my truck a few years ago. Nothing but problems. Truck would shift normally, but wouldn't go into lockup in OD. 3 or 4 visits back to installer, and they got that fixed, but now the remote doesn't wait for the heater grid to cycle. Now it doesn't work at all, so I gave up.
When the remote initially worked, it did wait for the heater grid to cycle.

It's like the transmission relay is not coming on when the key is turned on. Did you add the sales code for the remote start and reconfigure the truck?

Sag 2. I took my truck to the dealership today to figure out the remote start issue. They talked to the Mopar factory techs a couple of times on the phone and/or by email. They claim there is not a fix for it at this time. Something about a relay not getting voltage to it when the remote is used, but does get voltage when starting the truck with the key.
