I built a set of removable mud/stone guards by using aluminum 2 inch angle, aluminum flat bar, bolts, and belting. The 2 inch angle slides into the trailer hitch bracket and the belting is clamped between the the aluminum flatbar and angle. I built mine with 18 inch wide belting that projects about 5 inches wider than the truck (this prevents the rock rash on the corners of the fifth wheel that happens with flaps that are tire width only. The belting is trimed to round over and blend into the top of the bumper. A tab/notch is cut into the top of the belting under the bumper so that the belting must be bent down to pass under the bumper when putting the flap/angle in or out of the trailer hitch bracket. The cut flap keeps the assembly in place. The aluminum angle is long enough to insert 12-15 inches into each side of the trailer hitch receiver. The corners aluminum angle must be filed down to fit the inside corner radius in the trailer hitch receiver. Works good.
