No first hand experience, but there have been stories of dealers either doing this or threatening to do so here and on other forums.

Dodge dealers do not have the authority to rescind a D/C warranty :)

Yeah but dealers do pay for the parts if DC later determines that the part failed because of mods. Thats why they're so careful about it.

It happened to me, because of leaving my gauges and relocated stock lift pump on, they voided my entire drivetrain warranty. This was at the dealer where I bought the truck even.

Their reasoning was "The code 0216 means there's been a chip on there"

I asked them to show me where it said that, they would not.

Some dealers seem to be fine with any mods, and some look for any excuse to get out of a warranty. When they do that, you're pretty much hosed. It cost you more to fight them than it does to just fix the truck.

What dealer was this? I would like to stay far, far away. I am starting to get antsy about any mods to the '03... I had in mind a set of 19. 5's and a ranchhand front end, but I am afraid if the ball joints ever give me trouble, I will get stuck holding the bag.

Pm me your vin,I would like to read the restriction. :)

Champion out of Greeley.

They were great when buying the truck, blew away anybody else up here.

Their service department unfortunately was not quite what we were hoping for. They fought with me on the minor things I took it back in for shortly after we bought it.

This experience makes me wish you could deduct the price of the warranty, and just fix it yourself from the get go.

Gladly, I've been kind of curious as to if they were telling me the full truth. Not that I'd take it in for a dealer ever again anyways.

Well I guess I am wrong!!

My warranty is still there. I don't know whether I'm more upset now, knowing they lied to me about my warranty or that they didn't just fix it and not give me the run around.

Dealers #@$%!
