Can anyone tell me how to get the connector off of the oil pressure sensor. is there a clip on it (top or bottom)? I can't feel one and I sure can't see one and the thing won't budge on it's own. It's no wonder i've been putting this off. :(

Thanks

Yep there's a clip on it. It could be on the top-side or bottom. You have to put a small screw driver under it and lift it over the ear on the sender.

you can actually do the clip with your index finger. when you put the new senso in make sure you have a 8 inch ratchet extension. the job is extremely easy.

You will also need a "Chrysler" sensor socket available at your auto parts store, look at the Lilse tool line, its less than $20. This way you won't damage the sensor.

Ata properly advised you about lifting the tab, then pulling back on the connector. Notice the tab on your new sensor? The connector tab locks on this "lock or nub", thus the reason for lifting up so it can be removed w/out damaging the connector.

Also I like a small smear black silcone gasket maker on the threads. Assure that any sealer, teflon tape etc. stays back on the threads towards the sensor, we don't want any foreign objects entering the engine block/oil rifle and potentially clogging a piston cooling nozzle. :(

Good luck

Andy

Thanks, I finally got it off. I wedged my didgital camera down in there and snapped a few pics. I found on mine an orange tab on the top that acually slid in from the side of the connector. I had to push a little tab on the left side down, then slide it out to the right side of the connector. this was in addition to the tab on top that you simply lift up to clear the post. the orange peice actually locks the connector in place.

Is this different than others? My new one (Mopar) did not have this.
