I ordered the cup smoothie from Geno's ,I would like to remove the cheap looking tray off the floor. Has anyone done this?:confused:

Yep, I've had it out. It's not difficult really. There is one screw under one of the rubber mats in the bottom of one cup holder and another under the mat in one of the little storage bins. Then there is one more screw under the transfer case shifter boot. The boot has a plastic frame around it that clips into the big tray thing. Pull it up and you can get to the screw. All this assuming you have a four wheel drive, if not I'm wasteing your time. :rolleyes:

The problem is that the whole thing is one piece and I don't think it would look very good if you tried to cut away the cup holder/storage part of it.

Why would you want to remove the cup holder? I think it is awesome! Fits my needs perfectly

Much better than my old Ford, had to put a Shucks cup holder hanging off the door frame

I am VERY pleased with the 6 speed cup holder

I make use of my 6-speed cupholder/storage bins, but it seems I have a middle-seat rider in front pretty often and they don't have a very good spot to put their feet. Plus I don't like the big plastic thingy. I wouldn't mind getting rid of mine but I think the carpet doesn't cover everywhere around the shifter underneath of it, at least maybe on my 2-wheel drive.

When I took mine out to install my short shift kit, I seem to remember there being a surprising amount of carpet under there actually.

Heck, I like the location on the new trucks , way better then the 2nd gen's where every cop in side of a hundred miles could see my cold one sitting up there in plain view!!:rolleyes: :{

For those with frequent up front middle seat customers... perhaps you could make a carpet-covered plywood cover that would fit over the center cup holder/consel area?

Thats a good thought, make it removable and replaceable, so you could use the truck as a "6 passenger" as advertised. Dodge are you listening?:rolleyes:

That is a good idea, Snap Snap and it is gone. The infrequent but important times when needed would make that an appreciated feature.

I am with you, Hunter 1. I have the 4wd control on the dash :cool: and find the bins and cupholders to my liking and use it all the time. I had the cup smoothie in my 98 and did not like it when I had to open the console and with the storage in the bottom part of the seat it would be more inconvenient. The floor storage compartment comes off easily. I had mine off and I put the guts to my cb in there. Now if D/C would come up with a way to keep the dust and dirt out of there, that would be very useful;) .
