I already posted this but perhaps as a new topic I can get better feedback.

Here is my concern/question

Yesterday I had Bridgestone Dueler AT in 285/75/16 Installed.

With the wheel straight ahead, The outer edge is making contact with the pavement but the inner edge is not. (front tires). My shop manual says there is no adjustment for camber.

When changing the upper ball joint I saw the sleeve has a number on it, leading me to think there are other sleeves with other numbers, maybe the way to set them up at the factory.

Are the other sleeves obtainable? Would I screw something up lessening the amount of camber?

With the prior 235/85s I had on I could see the excessive wear on the outer edges but just kept rotating to try and keep up. I can tell with these wider/taller tires this wear will be aggravated.

Comments Please?

Do a search on Ingle(sp?) products - I believe they make eccentric ball joints for our trucks that adjust camber &/or caster depending upon the ball joints orientation.

I had eccentric sleeves in the upper ball joints on my '79 CJ-7 - I would not go that again. The things were a bit finicky. I also had tapered shims installed between the steering knuckle & spindle to adjust camber. Not sure if this is doable on our unit bearing front ends but it might be worth investigating.

You're thinking of Ingalls Engineering (www.ingallseng.com). They make an adjustable ball joint (part #615) for the 2000 and up Dana 60 front end.
