Farewell Everyone!

woodstove question

Is anybody else going this year?

Me and 4 of my friends from here at school (Embry-Riddle Aero University in AZ) will be flying in Friday night at about 10 PM. The man who owns the company I and my Father work for owns and flys the AT-6 "Six-Cat" (shiny black one) which is currently atop the T-6 class with a speed of 237. 868 MPH. He won in '99 and '00, then '01 there weren't any, and last year in '02 he was second (friggin' engine... lol). This year she's givin' it all she's got and if he starts in first, knock-on-wood, he'll be taking home the trophy again!

I'm excited, first time there and I get free pit-row passes AND a room at the Reno Hilton, for nothin'! I'm stoked!

See ya there... I'll be around Six-Cat most the time, but am sure to be found near some of the more well known planes now and again.

Here's a pic of six-cat I stole from another web page.

WOW - what a sweet looking airplane!! Totally cool!! I've been flying RC airplanes for the past 17 years and just love going to anything dealing with airplanes - too bad the inner ear isn't good to me.

Went to a Jet rally for the RC jets (yep - have one, see my pictures) and rode into a Jump airplane for sky-divers (crazy people, why jump out of a perfectly good airplane?) we then drop 5000 feet per minute after the last one out - WOW, it took another hour for my stomach to get back down.

I'd like to attend one of these events - would be really neat to go to.

A couple of weeks ago I got the chance to fly in a 6 plane formation flight of T-6's/SNJ's. I was in the back seat of the lead plane. A few of my clients have them and all 3 were in the formation flight that day. Did 5 passes over the airport for a local fly in. It was awesome! I rented a Piper Arrow out of Concord, CA back in the mid 90's and flew into Reno for the air races. It was quite an experience for this flat lander pilot (didn't have any mountain experience until getting checked out in that Arrow - flew into Tahoe for the checkout). Here's a pic of one of the T-6's on that flight (GTMO Baby):
