I just bought a 2004 3500 4x4. I have a 93 f250. I have an extra set of 16 inch wheels for the old truck. I was wondering if I could run 16 inch tires on the new truck. The dealer said I could but I have my doubts. I would think that the tires would have to rotate at different speeds which would affect the speedometer and odometer. From other posts I have read I think the wheels will fit I am just unsure about being able to run the smaller wheels and tires. These 16 inch tires are the BFG radial mud terrain. I have not been able to find them in 17 inch with load rating e.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Chances are they won't fit due to the larger braking system on the new truck. If I am wrong will someone post the correct info please?

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I will be looking to an extra set of 17 inch wheels and a set of tires that will get me to the fire station in the winter. I usually put the snow/mud tires on in the fall around the times when the snow starts flying and take them off in the spring.

Thanks again!

There are vendors for new steel wheels... but after buying tires for the 235/80/17 dually I'm going to look for a set of 19. 5 wheels and tires..... we pull trailers and the 19. 5 give us the extra safety margin and you can find them anywhere... .

I've been waiting for 10 days for 2 warranty tires from goodyear for my 04... once there worn out... its to the 19. 5... .

We're getting over 80K on Firestone Stel Flex on 19. 5's on our F550.....

when you go to the 19. 5's will you use the 8/10 stud adapter or stay with the 8 stud wheel,I don't find the 8 stud 19. 5 wheel plentiful whereas the 10 stud wheel is.

If you have any interest in Alcoa 19. 5's (paticularly for the SRW trucks) please send them an email via this page. and tell them what you want. Even if you think you may possibly want a set in the far off future, lets let them know! I don't think they realize how much demand there is for these things, paticularly with the proper offset for the new model trucks.

Rickson's does make them in aluminum or at least will be soon. They already have pricing.

Rickson's "soon" and Alcoa's "soon" seem to be in the same time dimension, aka, whenever their darned well and ready. This has been going on for awhile now. I will fill out the Alcoa form, hopefully they will be released about the time I wear out my new tires from muddy.

Here is what I sent to Alcoa:

When in God's name are you folks going to produce a 19. 5" wheel for the Dodge single rear wheel 3500? I think there is a quiet demand for it!

I doubt it would be an extremly difficult or expensive undertaking for you all.

The back spacing needs to be correct for the '03 and up Dodges, not a generic wheel for chevy, ford, and Dodge.

I don't imagine that anyone will actually reply to this, so, thanks in advance for at least thinking about it (please pass this on to the markinting people and send them to https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums

for confirmation of my opinion.

Best regards,
