Does anyone have any insight on how to remove the entire drivers' side mirror assembly on an 05? It is heated/powered if that matters. I got hit and it got pretty messed up and the dealer wants $100 in labor to replace it, not to mention $404 for the mirror... . :eek: On that note, anyone know where to get a mirror for less than $404?:D

Thanks

Toshiro

I replaced my mirrors with the power heated tow mirrors. I have the regular power heated mirrors from a 06' 2500. They are 26 miles old. Replaced them the first day I owned the truck. Real easy to remove the door pannel and access 3 nuts that hold the mirror on. Unplug control harness and replace. E-mail me and I'll give you a price on the mirrors. -- email address removed --.

I didn't even remove the inside door panel last time, I removed the screw so the top triangle are would flex back enough for access to the nut. (they're either 10 or 12mm) I think the other 2 are visible when you just open the door. It's really a very easy 10 minute max job.

$210 from Rockauto.com, just replaced heated/fold out towing mirror for that price. Ordered it On Monday around noon and it was received early Tuesday for less than 5$ shipping... You cannot beat that place. I have ordered parts from them and the shipping and pricing is always excellent

If you have'nt removed the door panel yet. Take off the inner door pull handle with a torx. take out the phillips screw behind the door handle, also one by the mirror and two on the bottom of the door. Then just pull up, and the panel will come off. Then 3 nuts and the mirror is off. careful with the two tabs on the side of the white electrical plug when you unplug the power to the mirror.

If you haven't already got it, I have a set of the regular heated/electric mirrors I took off when my truck was a week old.

I'll sell them cheap to get them outta my garage!!

let me know
