I am going to replace the p7100 inj. pump on my truck with a rebuilt out of a truck with an automatic vs. my truck with the 5 speed. If i bring the engine to tdc and replace the pump... wiill the engine run? will it just have a few less horsepower?

Going to buy the wheel puller and mirror now... . unless theres someone by new jersey that wants to help!

trans type does affect the HP ratings. A 94/95 auto pump is 160hp whereas a manual is 175 hp. 96/97/98 pumps have 2 HP ratings, 180 and 215.

But any pump will work on another truck.

Just reading this post I have a 1996 2500 with an injection pump getting ready to go south. Can I put the 215hp pump onto my automatic? Also do I need to have the pump tested if I am going to add 370 injectors and 4k springs before installing it on my truck?

Transmission type affects which pump Dodge uses, but moving the pump from an automatic to a manual will not affect the rated HP for that pump.
