Well, I've search the forums for info on what blades to try out, but most of the post were a year old or more. This last week I went to clean the windows and the blade started to come off. Today, I looked and saw the other side was also going, so I peeled it off and just using the rubber pad. Either way, I ned to get some new ones.

Thanks, Michael

I just ordered two pair of the new PIAA silicone wiper blades (with frames) earlier this week. I haven't received them yet but I hope they last longer than my Bosch counterparts.

I have the PIAA silicone blades and love them. I put them on every thing I own. There pricey but worth it. I have had them on my truck for about a year and they still work great.

When I bought my truck in '94 I bought a set of Silicone TripleEdge blades from Wal Mart. They are still on my truck and work like new and I live in the desert, needless to say I have them on my other vehicles also :)

I installed the Geno's heated wiper blade on the drivers side on my 03, not too thrilled:(

When the weather really gets snotty and cold the heated silicon blade works as advertised but the wiper blade can still freeze up causing the blade not to ride flat against the windshield. In that respect the old style rubber booted wipers were better, the blade couldn't freeze.

Also the silicon blade they use leaves a film on the window, it's pretty obvious to me because I still have the factory original on the passenger side. Drivers side has this film other side does not:confused:

I'm wondering if it's the silicon material that leaves this film:(

When the connection breaks (I'm sure it will) I'm going back to stock.

I found some locally that I put on the wifes car called "Sil-Blades" they have a 5 year warranty on them and work great but I just have Anco's on my truck and they work fine.

I have had good luck with the MicroEdge in the summer and then switch to NAPA winter blades. I also use the RainX brand windshield washer fluid which really helps the overall performance. I had wiper/ windshield issues of which I posted threads and thus far, this combination works for me.

I got some Rain-X replacements at WalMart a few weeks ago, you can get 2 for what DC wants for 1--under $9 each. They seem to work very well so far.

I had a set of Siliblades on my '99 Durango and they were great (at least until I traded it for my '03)

I just bought a set for the cummins, and they're great. They were about $20.

Just happened to look at the latest JC Whitney catalog. They have the Siliblades for $15. 10 year warranty as well. 5 from Siliblade, 5 from JC Whitney. Seems like a pretty good deal...

RUBBER INSERTS

I have been using just the new rubber inserts on my stock blades. The inserts I get at the BMW dealer P# 61-61-0-154-440 list price is $2. 80 each. Seam to last well. Cheep enough that i get them a few at a time.

Well, after trying many blades over the years, I find buying the OEM ones once a year is about as good as any, and best of all no adapters or phony hookups. I have tried the booted ones, the triple edge ones and so on. It seems they all wear out in about a year.

I'm "on the road" lots. Usually replace mine with whatever Wally World has, bout every 6 months. Hey, I tried that Rain-X washer fluid stuff. Thought it looked like a great idea. Boy was I sorry. Have heard that using the real Rain X is a better deal and doesn't leave the oily film that I experienced with the washer/w Rain X incorporated in it. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't like it.

Cheers,

Steve J.
