I've had MANY done, every year and I get stuck with over $700. I'd say he was getting a bargain at that price.

Both the wholesale and retail pricing structures for auto glass vary widely in different parts of the country. In the Houston area, the going insurance price for the Ram windshield, including a replacement molding and the urethane sealer "kit", is $622 and change. Many shops will give a discount for cash sales since they then don't have to wait 30 to 45 days to get paid by the insurance companies.

Something else to make sure of. Not all Gen two windshields are the same. the 93 to 98 the VIN number is in a different spot than your 2001. If that windshield is used the VIN number can't be read form the outside.
