2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Replaced Factory Trailer Connector

I was going to splice into the wires going into the trailer plug for an in-bed plug for my 5th wheel. I pulled the connector off the factory plug and it was all corroded inside. I started to clean it, but decided to replace it w/ an aftermarket one with screw lugs. I cut off the connector and terminited them in the new plug along w/ the wiring for the in-bed connector.



Everything works great.

I believe **ICEMAN** is the one that had some issues with his trailer connector corroding bad also. The connectors had corroded so bad that it was shorting out and killing his batteries, if I remember right.

Iceman's problem sounds very likely. It makes me wonder if there any other of the "electrical" problems that occur on our trucks at times could be related to the "faulty/corroded" plug-in????
