I was going to splice into the wires going into the trailer plug for an in-bed plug for my 5th wheel. I pulled the connector off the factory plug and it was all corroded inside. I started to clean it, but decided to replace it w/ an aftermarket one with screw lugs. I cut off the connector and terminited them in the new plug along w/ the wiring for the in-bed connector.



Everything works great.

I believe **ICEMAN** is the one that had some issues with his trailer connector corroding bad also. The connectors had corroded so bad that it was shorting out and killing his batteries, if I remember right. :D

Iceman's problem sounds very likely. It makes me wonder if there any other of the "electrical" problems that occur on our trucks at times could be related to the "faulty/corroded" plug-in????:confused:
