Have 2003 Dodge D3500 w/309,000 mi 5. 9 HO Cummins 6 sp 2WD. Installed Edge Chip ED1000C; 2-1/2 days later blue smoke came out of the exhaust. Occurred at idle and coasting, gradually getting worse and coming out while driving down the road. Also rear bumper had thin oil film on it. Would this chip cause this problem? Removed chip, still smoked. Towed to dealer who replaced the #2 injector. Computer indicated no other problem. Still smoking; dealer said it will smoke until it cleans out the system. Is this right? If so, how long should it take to clean out? Both the Dodge serviceman and the chip tech advisor said the chip shouldn't have caused the problem. Would be interested to hear if anyone else has had problems shortly after installing a chip.

I'd be shocked if it was the chip. Sounds like coincidence. If you had raw fuel running through the system it might be burning off slowly. Are you still getting the thin oil film? That should stop... . If that stops don't worry and see if the smoking stops.

309k miles. That's awesome, man!
