Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) replaced radio and speakers

Anyone know about the premium sound systems that came with the

96. I replaced the radio 3 years ago with a eclipse and recently replaced the speakers and now the system works for awhile and goes out, when the current is cut off it will come back on but goes off in about an hour, also while playing a C D it gets really hot and also cuts out. clock works, station

I D is there, volume indicator shows but no sound. Stormy

Sounds to me the radio itself is overheating and shutting itself off. Cheaper to get a new one than to try and repair that one... Unless you are an electronic's guru...
