Well, a few of you know that I have been having a bear of a time isolating some weird vibrations and horrid noises from under the green monster after the new brass clutch was installed.

We finally found the culprit with my clutch installation. Nucklehead installer did not tighten the ujoint bolts. Everytime we looked under the truck the transmission was in gear and thus wound up against the loose clamp. A friend drove the truck for 20 feet, jumped out with it running and found the problem.

ARGGGGGGG

Well at least it is fixed. .

Now I can drive to my best friend's funeral this weekend and work out the grief with my foot! (Friend, USCG Chief, civilian boss and mentor... . Suddenly dropped dead at 48 after an extra healthy life, go figure) http://www.davidcovell.com "special notice"

Yeah good idea. While I reassembling my trans I double checked the u-joints and retainers. All seems good for the shock I put them through.

Sorry to hear of your best friend,I know what you mean about healthy living. 7 years ago my father-in-law died at 51. He was a fire captain and never smoked or drank hard liqour, only had a beer once in a blue moon. While my grandpa who's 76 smokes and drinks alot everyday was only told by his doctor to lay off the smokes and loose a few pounds, but otherwise he's okay.
