When I bought my 2005 the previous owner drilled holes in the bottom of the air cleaner box and while it may help with power and the such, I don't like the idea of the openings. I was following a buddy the other day while on a wild pig hunt here in CA and the dust he kicked up was so bad I had to stop constantly to let the talcum-like dust settle a bit. Sure enough when I got home the filter was a dirty mess.

Does anyone know of a good new or used source for a replacement air box? All I need is the lower portion as the lid is fine.

Thanks

I went to Dodge Parts Dept (dodgepartsdept.com) & looked up a 2005 it is called lower cover sells for $62. 24. When you put in your truck I went to the search & put in air cleaner & you can find it there.

If you are picking up dust from following a vehicle plugging the holes is not going to help. The stock air box draws it in from the same air supply. Run the deap pleat filter and blow it out when you get into heavy dust.

Sounds like some epoxy glue or duct tape would be a much cheaper solution to the holes - but I agree, it won't help with the dust any.

a better setup is to buy a air box and tube takeoff of a 6. 7. they are going for between $35 and $50. bolts up and only one small plate needs to be fabricated to plug a hole.
