Replacement air inlet hose

Thinking of adding a BHAF to my 12 Valve since I don't have $200 for a Mega Cannon right now, and I really don't need it till I start BOMBing.



Just wondering where can I get a new hose to run from the BHAF to my turbo?



Any sugguestions on a hold down for the BHAF? Or does it usually stay in place?

You don't need a new hose, the old one works great.

You need to keep the BHAF housing away from the A/C line and the factory airbox studs.



I used a scrap piece of 3/8" plywood and nutted it to the outboard and forward studs. I used 2 nylon bandings and the reuseable retainers that came around some packages on a UPS shipment to hold it to the plywood.

Net cost <em>zip</em>. You cannot beat that price.

I re-used the original intake hose, too.

Got Smoke: as you can see the factory rubber intake hose works fine, perfect in fact. This is the beauty of the BHAF, it is a drop in replacement for the factory airbox/filter.



Some foam rubber carpet padding over the airbox mounting studs protects the filter and A/C line.

Yes that is soundproofing. My valve cover has two layers of 1/2" 'superfoam' from www.soundstop.com .

The intake side with injector lines and intake horn are also covered. The exhaust manifold cover shown in the photo didn't have good enough heat insulation and failed [started smoking] when I was towing a mobile hotel to Muncie. I'll figure something else out for the exhaust side soon.



Db readings [soundpressure readings] show my engine to be about 5-6 Db quieter than stock. This is a noticable amount. While there is no mistaking that there is a Cummins idling under the hood, it just isn't painful to try to talk near the truck when it is running.
