I had a rear axle seal go out so I had to get into the rear hubs, I can't believe how cheap the locking nut and clip is. After a little research I located some replacement parts that lock much better.

The part numbers for the spicer parts are; 621028, 621027, 660568.

Also I'm now properly valved, I had a 99 24V that I sold after I purchase the 97 5spd.

Can you elaborate on the difference between the old parts and the new parts?

The Dodge axles use a single nut with part of the threads of the nut being Teflon, after you adjust the nut to the correct position you use a clip that rides in the axle keyway that is pressed into the Teflon part of the nut. This clip can come out and the nut can work its way off and you’ll lose a tire.

The new parts I used consist of a nut, a washer that has a peace that rides in the keyway and has about 15 holes in it, and the last peace is another nut. The first nut has a small pin protruding out of it that rides inside of one of the washers 15 holes, the washer doesn’t move because of the keyway peace protruding out of it and the last nut clamps them all together.

Also these part numbers are for the Dana 70 and Hybrid Dana 80 only.
