Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Replacement fuel pressure snubber

For those of you that have opted to replace the faulty snubber to your mechanical fuel pressure gauge, where did you get the replacement? I put the fuel pressure gauge on my '01 in December and the snubber went out today, if I drove the truck all the time I'd plumb it in direct but it's the wife's daily driver so she wants a new snubber.

The gauge is an Isspro from Geno's but he does not show a replacement snubber.

I'd like to find one that will last more than 6 months.

What it your gauge doing? Where is it tapped to? I had my autometer tapped into the VP inlet banjo and blew through 2 gauges before someone told me i should run a snubber. I got one from autometer for 5 or 8 bucks i think. My gauge would start to fludder real bad, couldn't see a good reading.
I would try to call Isspro and get one from them, i would use autometer as a last resort, their customer service sucks.

I use a needle valve like you have on your refridgerator water line. Crank it down as much as needed.



With it pretty tight at idle I can see the VP44 internal pump cycle fuel in (ie gauge ticks a little), but as soon as the rpm gets over ~ 1k it is as smooth as can be.



Simple fix, inexpensive, adjustable.



I also like it to purge air from the gauge line. Take the gauge sensor off, slightly open the valve with the engine running to purge any air, close the valve, drip some fuel into the sensor to make sure it's cavity is full, screw the sensor back on.

I got my snubber direct from Isspro themselves. Works fine except it slows the response of the gauge down a little. At least it doesnt rattle anymore.

I have it plumbed in at the VP 44 inlet fitting thru a needle valve.

Symptoms are the fuel pressure sets at 10PSI no fluctuation. It just started yesterday.

I changed the inlet screen to the Glacier LP and the fuel filter which did not help.

I then installed a gauge I had in the shop in the line to the snubber from the VP (after removing the snubber) and have 20PSI which is what I usually read with the snubber installed on the in cab gauge. So that leads me to believe it is the snubber.

Gauge is an Isspro EVA.

I ordered a new gauge isolator from Isspro, nice pepole to deal with.

The isolator is not on their web site as of yet you must call after market sales to order.
