Not to start a war between brands but, what is everybody using to replace the factory lift pump mounted on the filter housing? I'm talking aftermarket and not the intank repairs. There seems to be lots of options (filter and canisters to remove air,and so on), it gets quite mind boggling after a while. Thanks. PS, pictures if you've got them.

depends on your price range. the ones i've heard of are the holley blue, carter, fass, aeromotive, glacier, and air dog.

Pick your brand, but make sure it is a gerator (internal gear pump) or a parallel gear (external gear pump). Cavitation on these two kinds of pumps is non existant, BUT you have to provide a bypass return back to the tank for the excess fuel the pump pumps that the input to the VP44 does not use.

Pick one with a really good motor that will hold up for years of service and maybe one you can field repair (brushes etc).

A different concept than the vane type pump.

I had a FASS 150/95 system installed over two years ago now. I did it in preperation for fueling mods. I am satisfied with the FASS. No problems so far.

A VP-44 on a 3rd Gen? :confused::eek::eek:

Any word on how the intank pumps are holding up on "stock" trucks? My dealer says he has yet to replace one of them on any 05-07 truck.

Thanks :Larry
