replacement (not cover) guage pillar

I see autometer makes a "replacement" 2 guage pillar w/tweeter mount... yet i heard in the past that these were in fact "covers" which utilized and covered the existing pillar. I am looking for a complete replacement (so I can put the original pillar on a shelf in the garage). Does anyone make one of these? I remember rob spading was working on something but I don't remember it ever coming to fruition. Any help appreciated... (and if you have the paint number for the agate pillar, i'd appreciate that, too #ad

I can tell you that I just installed a Gauge works by AutoMeter. It is a direct replacement. However it does not snap in as does the factory piece. So a little 2 way tape will do the trick. The part# for a triple w/tweeter is 17 205.

Dmurdock, my interior is agate also. I have thrown the empty paint can away but just go to Ram dealer and they will get you small airasol can that matches perfectly. Think I paid about $5 for it. Spray about 3 light coats and it will match very good.

I second Griff996's answer. I received the Autometer 3 hole pillar mount with tweeter hole yesterday. The instructions from Autometer say to "grind down the tweeter hole and put their unit on top of the factory unit". Geno's instructions offer you to use a little ingenuity. The unit actually fits nicely in the old "A" pillar location and you can use double backed tape or a small sheet metal screw to attach it to one of the many small holes underneath. Takes no time to mount and it is a good match. #ad

I bet Geno's would fax you a copy of the installation instructions to help make you comfortable. They are very nice over there...
