My 2003 Dodge has the factory AM/FM/6CD radio with steering wheel controls. I like it fine but I would like to have XM Satellite radio too. Actually, I do have XM via my Delphi MiFi radio which I have mounted just to the left of the factory radio and pick up the signal via FM.
However I would like to use the location where the MiFi receiver is mounted to mount a portable GPS Navigation device.
I purchased and had installed a Kenwood model 535 receiver along with adapters for steering wheel controls and for XM. It works but the display only shows the station being received or the artist or the song (only 1 of these displays at a time). Also, it takes a bunch of button pushes to get the time display and a bunch more pushes to get back to the radio information displays. To me, this setup is very unsatisfactory, especially since if you put a wee bit of side pressure on the button when pushing it you find that you have changed the channel. Then you have to push more buttons to find what channel you accidently went to and then go from there. I'm not at all happy with this arrangement.
Do any of you know of a better setup? Because of the major league baseball thing, I do want XM, not Sirius.
