2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission replacement steering dampener?

At 115K miles, I am probably in need of a new steering dampener. Have any of you found a brand/source for a quality replacement that you really like?

My truck is an '01, 4WD. I have relatively new Bilsteins, Darren's steering stabilizer, up-graded tracking bar, Borgeson steering shaft, new tires, and alignment per TDR suggestions.

I bought my truck without the steering shock, it drove fine. But since dodge felt they needed to equip all trucks as oem, so who was I to argue. I ordered one from rough country thru my local 4x4 store. Installed ok and had a cone adapter for the tapered hole and used a regular bolt. The truck drove the same afterwards. I also go from 285 summers to 33" winter tires. If came in white but I painted in black. The price was about $50, if I remember correctly.

Don's service is 2nd to none, I just put one on my 01' 3500 4X4, bought just the replacement damper since I don't offroad and don't need it rebuilt, about $60 and money well spent

You might want to pull one end of the damper to see if it really needs to be replaced. They're pretty durable. It should have good resistance going both ways... . like a regular shock for the full length of the stroke.

Rancho has one for our trucks that is pretty affordable and seems to work well. I just replaced mine with one a few months ago. It is actually my 2nd damper (previous one was also a Rancho). They don't last forever, but its a quick fix and not a lot of $.
