I plan on upgrading my steering to the 08+ style and am wondering about which steering stabilizer to use, other than the newer style Dodge one. My tires and rims are stock as is my suspension height. I don't think I need a dual set up, nor do I want to spend that much money. What about Rancho? Shadrach

I would check to see what Kore or Carli Suspension offers. I know Carli uses Bilstein. If you like Bilstein and want to stay with the stock location, Geno's has Bilstein stabilizers for the 08-10 trucks.

Source Automotive sells the '08 upgrade w/zerks for a nominal increase. They supply a Rancho or Skyjacker I believe. Using one of the pressurized ones will yield a left drift especially with stock tires. Probably overkill for your situation.

Yhe Carli High mount stabilizer with Bilstein is a great choice and if you want to go dual you can but another in the stock location.

The Bilstein 5100 from Genos would be a great choice. If you want something a little better, the Bilstein 7100 from Carli that bolts in the place of the stock one is even better!

Thanks guys. Both Carli and Kore are major overkill for me, although that hasn't stopped me in the past. :) They are both top quality products. Rancho and Bilstein are probably more in my budget. I need to fix the heater door problem first. Shadrach

Make sure you compare the OE to any "generic" aftermarket stabilizer you may consider... the Monroe I purchased a while back is significantly less stout than the OE, although; it seems to work just fine...

Thuren also has the Fox stabilizer. He also has a prototype with a King and a reservoir. It only uses 25 psi of nitrogen so it won't make the truck drift to the left. No word of release date however. I'd rank them as follows: Fox from KORE (more $) and Thuren = Carli/Bilstien. Either is higher performance than the Geno's Bilstien which is better than stock. I don't think the Geno's unit is pressurized so no steering drift.

i went with source auto and their stabilizer. it slows movement. the cylinder does not expand or retract on it own, its neutral. i really like the change. even my acra wife lover noticed the difference. much tighter and responsive.

Does anybody have Don's steering with a stabilizer? I'm currently trying to research doing the install. I used to have the Superlift dual setup when i had stock steering, it was so-so. I used the OEM replacement on my 99' and it was OK. I like the Bilstein line and am not worried about their quality. Any thoughts?

I went with the Carli stabilizer when I upgraded the steering from Source.
Not the high-mount either, just the regular Carli with the Bilstein shock.

Great link BDaugherty! I don't have the heater/blend door etc. problem YET, but this will be a big help in the future. Thanks!

I have two of Don's SS, one for each truck. It's your basic Fox unit nothing fancy or different. His price is just a lot better than KORE. On the 01, the clamp to the tie rod had a large OD (different from the 3rd Gen clamp) and it would contact the diff. cover. I have to do some detailed adjusting and grinding to get in to fit. The only other issue I had was my fault. BE SURE to point the Schedar valve up. I can get knocked off.

The Heater Treater stuff is top notch. I will solve the recirc door problem. I just did this in the 06.
